On 15 November 2022, Tashkent held the scientific-practical conference by the Obstetrics and Gynecology Association of the Republic of Uzbekistan, attended by 150 stakeholders (providers, academic staff, NGOs): “First trimester pregnancy. Screening and safe methods of pregnancy termination”.

RHTC took part in the event presenting the best practices on self-care interventions, self-care classification for safe abortion and family planning in accordance with the WHO recommendations.

Also, RHTC conducted meetings with academic staff and residents of Tashkent Medical Academy, engaging stakeholders in open dialogue about self-care abortion and family planning, as indicated in the 2022 WHO care guideline.

The „Abortion care guideline: executive summary, World Health Organization (2022) was printed and distributed to the participants, along with the brochure “Safe abortion” for women, containing information on MA via Telemedicine.

Dr Rodica Comendant made the presentation on “WHO 2022 Recommendations on Safe abortion, including the use of Telemedicine for medical abortion. Regional experience and new perspectives to enhance access and quality of the abortion services”.
