Training of Trainers on Safe Abortion Implemented in Kazakhstan

On November 10-11, 2021, a training of trainers on safe abortion for educational professionals was organized in Almaty, Kazakhstan by the Kazakhstan Association on Sexual and Reproductive Health in partnership with the Regional Training Center (RTC) and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The training was facilitated by Rodica Comendant, RTC Director, and Galina Grebennikova, Executive Director of the Kazakhstan Association on Sexual and Reproductive Health. As a result of the training, 25 educational professionals improved their knowledge and skills related to the provision of manual vacuum aspiration and medical abortion and are now better equipped to transmit these skills to their students. They also received continuing education credits for their participation.

The organization of the training of trainers was supported by the Safe Abortion Action Fund as part of the RTC-coordinated project “Bringing the WHO recommendations on safe abortion closer to women, in countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, by supporting the development of national clinical guidelines and protocols on unwanted pregnancy.”
